The Kenyan Ministry of Foreign Affairs have advised that: travellers are not required to enter mandatory quarantine for 14 days.All travellers will be screened on arrival; anyone displaying symptoms of COVID-19 will be required to quarantine in the place they are staying for the first 14 days of their stay and observe Government of Kenya protocols as directed. Passengers travelling in the 2 rows surrounding the person displaying symptoms will be traced and required to quarantine for 14 days. 

Travel to Kenya you will need to obtain a negative COVID-19 PCR test result, a medical certificate confirming you are free from coronavirus no older than 96 hours, and complete a COVID-19 Travellers Health Surveillance Form.Testing is available at the country’s major hospitals (Aga Khan Hospital, Nairobi Hospital, Kenyatta National Hospital). The charge for the test is approximately USD 100 (KES10,000) at private health facilities and USD50 (KES 5,000) at government hospitals. Test results are available within 48 – 96 hours. 

Restaurants and cafes in Kenya are open.Bars have been allowed to reopen from 29 September.On 28 September, the Government of Kenya directed that eateries and restaurants will close at 10pm (local time), but will be permitted to sell alcohol, effective 29 September. Hotels are allowed to operate. 

Kenyan citizens have been advised to avoid crowded places and to work remotely where possible.Places of worship may begin phased re-opening in conformity with applicable guidelines. The permitted maximum size of religious gatherings is increased to one third (1/3) of its normal sitting capacity. The maximum number of persons permitted to attend funerals and weddings is reviewed upwards to 200, with all in attendance abiding with Ministry of Health Protocols.On the 28th of September, the Government of Kenya directed that large gatherings, meetings, conferences and political events over 15 people remain suspended.
